Miriam is a hugely gifted seamstress and craftswoman. Her warm personality and quiet confidence in her work put you at ease straight away when you leave your precious wedding dress or other heirlooms in her care.
You know straight away that they are in good hands.
She transformed my wedding dress into the most beautiful Christening gown that I could ever have imagined. We were blown away the day we laid eyes on it, the attention to detail and the intricacy of design was superb. She emailed us the design plan and discussed all options with us. Miriam also incorporated my and my siblings' old Christening gown into our old Christening shawl. Again the neatness and detail was outstanding. Miriam also modernised our old Christening bonnet and shawl, our little boy looks so adorable in them! She also made a bib to match! My Mum was emotional when she saw the gown and accessories and I knew then that I was so glad that I had gone ahead with the heirloom gown. I cannot recommend Miriam highly enough, no amount of stars do her justice. Thank you so much Miriam.

Miriam made my wedding gown into a beautiful christening gown which we’ve now used three times. I know it will become a family heirloom and it’s great to see my dress getting so much use rather than living in a box forever more. She also took some of the flowers from my dress and made them into a sash that we can add to the gown for girls with the option to leave it off for boys. It’s just perfect. Miriam was so kind and thoughtful through the whole process and made it all very easy for me. Would highly recommend.

I knew I wanted to do something with my Mam's wedding dress for my daughters christening and didn't know how to go about it. I found christening generations on a Google search and went on then to follow the Instagram account.
From the moment I contacted Miriam she put me completely at ease.
It's not easy thinking of chopping up your mother's wedding dress! We were in touch on multiple occasions about ideas, lengths, sleeves measurements etc. I hadn't a clue! She sent me the design and once again touched base to send images of the gown halfway through. I couldn't believe the final piece once it arrived. My Mam's dress was 35 years old and it honestly blew my mind how stunning it looked. It's so sentimental to me and my mam. Plenty of happy tears she'd on the day. I can't thank or recommended Miriam enough, honestly!

I wanted to thank you for your talented work in changing my vintage wedding dress into this stunning christening gown.
It really is a work of art.
Since having my little boy in November 2020, I've taken the dress down and have a new found respect for the detail in this beautiful dress.
It makes me smile and brings back memories of not just my wedding but now my little girls special day back in 2018.
I'm hoping to Christen my new baby boy this June.

I own a vintage christening gown which has been in my family since 1913 when it was sent from Dublin to my grandmother for her children. It has been passed on from family to family down through the generations. At present I am the custodian of this precious gown. However, in recent years we encountered a problem with the gown. In the early 1900's babies were christened within a few days of birth, and towards the end of the century christenings took place within one month of the baby's birth. However, in the 21st century, it became the norm for babies to be christened 3 -6 months after birth. And so we found that it was a bit of a squeeze to get some of our babies into the gown in recent times!
Having seen Miriam interviewed on Nationwide I contacted her to see if our vintage gown could be adapted to fit modern babies. In order to adapt the gown, the bodice and sleeves had to be extended. This was accomplished in the capable hands of Miriam, whose delicate work was hardly discernible from the original creation all those years ago. She was conscious of the delicacy of the garment and did all that was possible to retain its original style. I was thrilled with the result and can highly recommend her to anyone who has encountered a similar problem with big babies and tiny vintage gowns!

From the minute I contacted Miriam, to the day our gown arrived, I could not have asked for a better experience. Miriam is wonderful to deal with. I had no real idea or thoughts for what I wanted I just really wanted my wedding dress to be used for a heirloom Christening gown, so Miriam helped and came up with a plan.
The gown turned out better than I could have imagined it is AMAZING. We were all blown away by how spectacular it is. Such a beautiful piece to have.
Miriam you are SUPER TALENTED, we can't thank you enough. We love it.

I had my first holy communion dress which I wanted to use as a christening gown for my little girl, the dress was nearly 25 years old . I had a consultation with Miriam & she understood exactly what I wanted done.
I was hoping to keep the same style & look of the gown and that's exactly what Miriam did . The measurements were perfect & fitted my little Julia perfectly, it really exceeded my expectations . I would highly recommend christening generations as Miriam has a real talent for design & is gifted with the needle.
Thanks again & I have a heirloom now that can be passed down through our family.

When I became pregnant, I always knew that I wanted Miriam to make my baby's Christening gown from my late mother's wedding dress. I had seen the work she had done in the past and I had faith in her. When our daughter was born, I brought the dress out to Miriam with an idea that I wanted a neutral, heirloom gown. I wanted it to be passed down throughout the generations.
Miriam had some lovely ideas, she emailed me photos as she was making the dress so I could decide on various elements. She even said she would hand sew our daughter's name on the inside which was such a lovely sentiment. In years to come, the name's of each child will be added.
To me, that makes it extra special. Miriam added some new material to a 30 year old, damaged wedding dress. She made the Christening gown of our dreams. She certainly has an eye for merging the old with the new. We got so many lovely remarks about the gown.
Everyone thought it so just so lovely that it was made from her granny's wedding dress. It really made our day extra special to know our daughter was wrapped up in her granny's dress. The quality of Miriam's work is second to none. Her attention to detail is a credit to her. She listens to what you want, and makes something far better than you could even imagine.
I am delighted that we asked Miriam to make Fiadh's Christening Gown. It is beautiful. I would highly recommend her to everyone.

We wanted a very special Christening gown for my 1st grandchild recently and I happened upon this page somehow and I'm so happy I did.
I asked Miriam could she do a timeless piece from my 24 year old wedding dress and this is what she created.
My grandson looked amazing and we now have our own family heirloom. We can't thank you enough Miriam, well done.
